Congratulations to Jen Racca for winning the District 12 Metro Council seat.
When I was asked about Ms. Racca during this campaign, I always responded that I'd only met Ms. Racca once, when she graciously agreed to meet with me after she was appointed to the Metro Council in January, and I found her to be a lovely person. Throughout this election she has continued to be gracious and lovely.
I decided to run for the District 12 Metro Council seat because I believed my experience with community advocacy and understanding of the issues would allow me to be an effective advocate for the people of District 12 and the parish as a whole. I still do. But I can still be an effective advocate even if I'm not the Metro Councilperson.
I hope Ms. Racca knows I am a resource. If she believes she could benefit from my insight or support, I will happily provide it with the hope that it will get us one step closer to the "Beloved Community."
